Please join us in downtown Raleigh March 29 to 31 for the 2023 Community College Day and NCACCT Law-Legislative Seminar!

March 29 is Community College Legislative Day – the NC Association of Community College Trustees, the NC Association of Community College Presidents, State Board of Community Colleges and the Community College System Office will bring all stakeholders together in a cohesive, collaborative way to advocate on behalf of the Systemwide Legislative Priorities at the Legislative Buildings in downtown Raleigh.  We expect hundreds of our community college leaders from across the state to walk the halls of the General Assembly to explain the needs of our community colleges.  We need ALL 58 Community Colleges represented because legislators will be looking for constituents from their districts to visit their offices on that day!

NCACCT Law-Legislative Seminar – The Seminar will be held at the Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh.  We will kick-off the Seminar with a Legislative Reception on the evening of March 29, when all attendees, guests of attendees and legislators are invited.  Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31, there will be sessions focusing on legal, legislative and governance matters that are important for all Community College leaders.  Trustees who have been appointed or reappointed within the last six months are required by General Statute to participate in training offered by the NCACCT, and this training for new and reappointed Trustees will be offered during the Seminar.

The deadline for registration is Tuesday, March 14, and the last date to cancel/change a registration and receive a refund is March 21.

A draft agenda can be found here.  Attendance at the highlighted sessions at this seminar will count as meeting the requirements for both new and reappointed trustee training.  Plus, attendees will have the option of participating in state-mandated ethics training as presented by the Ethics Commission.  Please contact Caroline Hipple at hipple@ncacct.org if you have any questions about this event.

HOTEL: You will receive a link to the hotel group rate on the final confirmation page after completing the registration.  The deadline to book the group rate is Wednesday, March 1 or whenever the group rate is sold out (which often comes first).
